Every fall, the Commissioners sit
down with the recreation and park staff to generate a
proposed budget for the upcoming year. Because the
parks and recreation departments are part of a municipality,
they cannot legally fund raise and must reply on their
funding from both the Village and Town contributions.
These contributions come directly from Goshen property taxes
which is why we we have a fiduciary responsibility to try
and keep expenses at a minimum. All of the Goshen
recreation programs are structured to be self sustaining,
however all of our parks generate very little income if any
which is where the bulk of our expenses go towards
maintaining our parks. |
